Converting your porch into an exterior chamber

Converting your porch into an exterior chamber

.

Now you have the porch you’ve always dreamed of including in your house, even though it actually did cost you some money, you can finally have some peace and enjoy the newly added space in your abode.

On the contrary, you can’t really have complete peace of mind until the new space has been furnished to meet the standard of your home or at least something nice. Although it’s quite understandable that you spent a great deal of money getting the porch built, but you can’t just leave the space empty nor pack it up with just a few plastic chairs and tables – that’s going completely spoil your entire home décor. If anything worth doing at all is worth doing well, then I think your porch is worth the trouble of a befitting furnishing.

Certainly, you must have had an intention in mind before you built your porch or you could have as well just been looking for a way to ease up the congestion in your home. Even if you were simply carving out a little spot for dinner or night relaxation or you had all the above in mind during its construction, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to spend the exact quality of resources you spent in getting your house furnished on this one. In fact, it is the best option you’ve got if you wish to make the most out of your new space.

First things first. Your porch would be needing chairs that match your purpose for it. If you’re looking to get an exterior room similar to your living room out of your porch, then you might want to get a set of sectional couches for it. If however, you’re just looking for a spot in which you can have a regular sunbathe, a couple of easy chairs would do the trick for you.

After you’ve decided on the type of seating you want in your new space, you would also need to consider the type of fire element you want. If you’re on a budget and don’t want to spend so much, you could choose from the variety of portable fireplaces available in the market so that you could get enough heat at night and still be able to keep it somewhere else during the day. If on the other hand, you have enough money to throw into making your porch as comfortable as it can get, you could go all the way and install a fireplace that suits your taste.

Next in line are the finishing touches you can give your new relaxation space. If space and money permit you, you could include a mini-kitchen or a prototype dining area. Don’t forget lights. You could decide to use outdoor battery-operated lights, candles, or lamps. Flowers and decorative plants could help spice up the room as well.

In conclusion, irrespective of the configuration you settle for, your porch can look no different from one of the rooms in your home if you put the necessary effort and time into it.

I have a screened in porch with rocking chairs, but no lights yet.

It is true that lighting makes all the difference in the world when it comes to the look of not only the outside of your home, but the inside as well
